In conventional, off-the-shelf footwear, the body's weight generally rests solely on the heel and sole of the foot, as these shoes are not ergonomically designed. This creates pain in the heel and ball of the foot, making it difficult to wear this type of shoe for many hours, and increasing the risk of injury.

When we dance, our feet sweat, reflecting the effort put into each movement. With a basic, off-the-shelf shoe, your foot slips in the shoe because it's not designed for dancing, and the sole isn't designed to absorb the perspiration of a foot in motion. You risk slipping and injuring yourself.

The insole of our shoes is made of soft, absorbent material , capable ofabsorbing perspiration and keeping your feet dry so you don't slip in your shoes. This keeps you stable and prevents you from slipping in your shoes, ensuring injury-free dancing .

Our shoes are handmade by qualified personnel in a human-sized factory of around twenty employees, located in the Shenzhen region of China.

Each of them carefully produces your pair of shoes through the 30 to 40 steps required to make a pair of shoes (and more for complex styles). 90% of the steps are carried out by hand, thanks to the craftsmanship of our workers. 

Due to the handcrafted nature of our shoes, they may present slight imperfections. Although our quality control team examines and cleans each pair before packing, traces of glue or sewing threads may sometimes be visible, and the soles may not be perfectly smooth due to the materials and thickness used. Nevertheless, these minor imperfections have no impact on the durability of our shoes. They bear witness to the authenticity of our handcrafted products, because every pair is unique, just like you.

Of course, human error can always occur during manufacturing, even if it is very rare. It is therefore possible that the pair you receive may have defects that are not visible to the naked eye. That's why we offer a 12-month guarantee on all our shoes.

Your shoes are also made to order, so the number of pairs produced per day is limited. Manufacturing lead times can therefore take up to 3 weeks.

The lead time can also depend on the time of year. For example, between August and December, it's often very busy, as everyone is ordering for back-to-school and the end-of-year festivities, so production can take between 2 and 3 weeks. On the other hand, production times are often shorter (1 to 2 weeks) in the off-peak period between January and July.

Does this mean that our shoes are of poor quality because they're made in China? The answer is no!

Contrary to what you might think, today's China has come a long way since the 2000s. Many companies decided to manufacture in China in the past to reduce their production costs, as labor is cheaper and less skilled. For many companies, product quality is not a priority: they focus on cutting costs as much as possible, using low-quality materials and unskilled workers to boost margins.

It's because of these companies that "Made in China" has a bad reputation. Quality has a price, just as it does everywhere else in the world: if you have products manufactured at low cost in Europe, you'll also get low-quality products. It's the company that makes the products that is responsible for the quality of the products sold, not the place where they are made.

Why don't we make our shoes in Europe? First of all, we want to keep our prices fair. Manufacturing in Europe would make the shoes at least twice as expensive. We want to remain affordable, because we know that not all our customers can afford a customized pair. Many use unsuitable or poor-quality shoes, which are often cheap. Our aim is to make our products accessible to everyone.

What's more, the raw materials and specific components (soles, heels, toe caps, etc.) used in the design of our dance shoes come from China, where the manufacture of these components is much more highly developed. It would therefore make no sense for us to entrust assembly to a European company simply to affix a "Made in Europe" or "Made in France" label for branding purposes, when 100% of the materials used come from China.

Unlike some of our competitors, we produce pairs to order, with the options you choose, which means we have virtually no product stock, and therefore no storage costs. Products are shipped directly from our production site to your address, which means there are no additional costs for transport to a storage warehouse, and then to you, our customer. This direct supply chain also helps to reduce our carbon footprint. Our business model not only supports a policy of competitive pricing, but also contributes to an environmentally-friendly approach.

The answer is simple: these shoes are nothing like ours! For the most part (and often the least expensive), they are not customisable with the heel height and sole of your choice, so you won't be able to customize them to your preferences. This type of shoe is mass-produced under controversial working conditions, which drives the price down, unlike our shoes, which are made to order by hand in a human-scale factory.

Those cheaper shoes you can find on other sites are made from lower-quality materials than ours, and your pair will wear out more quickly: you'll have to buy new ones more often, increasing your ecological impact and emptying your wallet even further.

Of course, these shoes are not designed for dancing and lack the indispensable features of heels mentioned above: heel design, support, comfort, cushioning, ergonomics, size inclusivity... By buying this type of inexpensive shoe, you increase the risk of injury.

What's more, they are often copies and counterfeits of our styles or those of our competitors. As a result, there are no costs associated with style development and design for these manufacturers.

We design and develop all our styles ourselves. If you find a similar style on another site, it's most likely a copy from our styles.
