Thank you for ordering from JOHEELA!

Your new shoes are finally in your hands ! You've just received your order and we know how eager you are to try on your new heels.

We invite you to try on your pair of shoes indoors on a smooth, clean floor (preferably carpet or rug) when you receive them, to avoid soiling or damaging the soles in the event of a return. The returned pair will certainly make someone else happy!

If, after trying on your pair, you'd like to check that you've chosen the right size, style or heel height for you, you'll find all the advice you need on this page.

If you wish to return your pair or report a problem with your pair of shoes, please find the necessary information below.

Take a moment to check your shoe size.

Is the size too small or too big?

If you have chosen your usual size without consulting our size guide, it is possible that the size does not fit you , as our sizes are unique and may therefore differ from those of other brands.

We invite you to measure your feet by following our sizing guide by clicking here if you wish to make an exchange.

Not sure if the size of the pair of shoes you've just received is right for you? Let's check together if your new pair of shoes fits your feet perfectly:

  • Shoe adjustment: Loosen the laces and/or buckles, slip on the shoes, then readjust them to your feet using the laces and/or buckles to ensure that your feet and ankles are well supported, and that the shoe is not too wide.

  • Shoe size: When you wear your shoes standing up, your longest toe should be close to the tip of the shoe, but not protruding. However, if your toe sticks out, the shoe is probably too small. On the other hand, if your toes are too far from the edge (more than 1cm), the shoe may be too big, and your foot may not be properly supported.

  • Ankle support: check that your ankle is well supported and that the shoe is not too loose to avoid imbalances, pain and sprains (with the exception of pumps, of course).

  • Zipper: Make sure the zipper closes smoothly. If you have trouble closing the zipper because your heel is pressing against it, this may be a sign that your shoe is too small.

  • Non-adjustable footwear: for non-adjustable footwear, such as socks ankle boots socks, for example, make sure you're not too tight in the shoe, and that your foot fits snugly all the way through without discomfort or a feeling of compression.

If you have any doubts, please consult our detailed guides or contact our customer service department below for further assistance.

Check that the style you've chosen suits you.

You think you just need to find the right size for a shoe to fit?

Not quite. The shape of your foot also plays an essential role. Wide feet, thin feet, pronounced instep or flat feet, Hallux Valgus, thin or wide ankles... each foot is unique and needs to find the shoe that suits its morphology to guarantee good support, avoid imbalances, pain or even sprains.

A shoe that's right for you is one that conforms to the shape of your foot, offering support, comfort and freedom of movement.

Lace-up shoes

The laces should be slightly spread at the front. This indicates that the shoe is suitable for your foot shape.

  • If the laces are too tight and you can't see your skin, the shoe is probably too wide for your foot. The ankle should also be well supported. If, despite tight lacing, your ankles or foot remain loose in the shoe, this may be a sign that your feet or ankles are thinner than average. Choose a model from our for a more precise fit and better support.

  • On the other hand, if the laces are too far apart and you can barely see the laces on the top of your foot, the shoe may be too narrow for your foot. The ankle should also be well supported, without compression or discomfort when squatting. If your laces are far apart on the top of your foot, you probably have a wider-than-average foot . Choose a pair from our "wide feet" selection to avoid foot compression and guarantee optimum comfort.

Sock boots

As sock boots are not adjustable, they may not fit your foot. The foot and ankle must be supported, without compressing the foot or ankle.

  • If you can't slide your toes all the way into the ankle boot , or have difficulty closing the zipper, this may be a sign that the ankle boot sock is too narrow to let your foot through. You probably have a wider-than-average foot or a strong instep, so opt for a pair from our "wide feet" selection.
  • On the other hand, if the ankle boot is loose at the ankle or instep, or if your foot slips in the ankle boot, this may be a sign that the ankle boot sock is too wide for your foot. You probably have a slimmer-than-average foot or instep, so choose a pair from our "slim feet" selection.
Pumps : Pumps can't be adjusted to fit your foot, and don't offer instep or ankle support. Your foot morphology therefore has a real impact on how well pumps will fit your foot.
  • There should be no gap between your heel and the shoe. If your foot slips out of the shoe as you walk, the model is probably too big. If your foot slips forward, this may be a sign that you have a thin foot and that your instep isn't sufficiently pronounced for the pump's cleavage to hold your foot in place and prevent it from slipping forward. So prefer a lace-up model.
  • On the other hand, if you feel discomfort in the cleavage of the pump, or if you feel squeezed in the shoe, this may mean that your foot is too wide for the shoe. Choose an adjustable model.

Also check the height of your heels!

There are several techniques for ensuring that your heel height is right for you. The first is easily applied by everyone, the second requires mastery of walking in heels (the technique you learn in a heels class, not simply knowing how to walk in heels on the street). You'll find them below.

  • First technique: put on your heels and stand in profile to a mirror, legs straight. Push down on your heel halves to lift your heels off the floor, and assess the space left between your heels and the floor. To be comfortable when dancing, you need to have at least 1 to 2 cm between your heels and the floor when you're in demi-pointes. This is essential for dancing in heels, and in particular for certain moves such as turns, where you need to be on half-toes without your heel touching the ground. If your heel barely comes off the ground when you're on half-toes, it's a sign that the heel is too high for you.

  • Second technique: this verification technique involves walking in heels to check that you can still walk with your heels straight. This technique requires you to have learned the heel-walking technique beforehand. When walking in heels, and presenting your heel in front of you before transferring your body weight, your leg should be straight and your heel should not touch the ground. If your heel touches the ground, your leg is not straight, or you have to take a smaller step to keep your leg straight when you transfer your body weight, then it's probably a sign that your heel is too high.

Feel free to consult our detailed guides or contact our customer service department if you need advice on heel heights.

How can I keep my heels stable?

Good technique is essential for your body and your heels! Joheela shoes are genuine dance shoes designed for dancing. This means they're more flexible than conventional heels, allowing you to point your feet and finish your lines cleanly. But this also means they adapt to your every moves. If your technique isn't right, this can affect their stability, making them your worst enemy!

So it's important to apply the basic principles of the heels technique to avoid damaging your heels.

Keep your body weight on the big toe, not on the outside of the foot: This is the key to stability! If your body weight shifts to the outside of your foot, you risk injuring your ankles, and your shoes will take on a bad shape and become unusable more quickly. With the right foundations, you can extend the life of your Joheela!

Due to the handcrafted nature of our shoes, they may present slight imperfections. Although our quality control team examines and cleans each pair before packing, traces of glue or sewing threads may sometimes be visible, and the soles may not be perfectly smooth due to the materials and thickness used. Nevertheless, these minor imperfections have no impact on the durability of our shoes. They testify to the authenticity of our handcrafted products.

It's also possible that some of our styles, especially the pairs without laces at the front, are not perfectly adapted to your foot morphology. This is quite normal, as each person has a unique foot morphology. If this is the case, we invite you to request a return and choose a pair better suited to your foot morphology. You can consult our our size guide here for more information, or contact us below for advice.
